Bought my SSP Thursday. Decided it would be smoking a butt this weekend therefore it needed a decent cleaning before cooking.
Friday afternoon bought a bag of KBB and fired it off to clean the gates and reseason since she has sat outside for over 7 years.
45 minutes in grates are nice and clean and I got a nice bed of coals. Decide not to waste, quick trip produced burgers and beer.
Turned out fantastic. Seems anti climactic, but firm my first cook in a kettle, it was great.
By the way, butt hit the grill at 630 this morning. Temperature has held fantastic for over 2 hours.
Pictures to come.
