It's time, we have a growing crew here in Michigan and it is time to have our own meetup.
At this point I can only suggest possible dates of Aug 26th or Sept 2nd. A location is TBD, it will likely be a park close to where I live in case we need supplies or an extra kettle.
I have a pop up shelter that we can use and basically we will pick a spot in the park bring our kettles and cook away.

I have an agent who we are planning on making a track from Chi to MI for the meetup. It would be great if we can work out an arrangement for some deals for those interested.
I am almost certain Brian has a couple of Red MBH grills for sale. We can find a way to get Eric's Red MT here to SE MI and Eric @vader06 We will work out getting the green MT if I get it today to your house that weekend. We will need to throw that agent a few buck to do this but it is a great way to avoid the hassle of shipping.

I am selling my 1969 Red Head. PAT. PENDING MBH. The kettle has Steel Wheels with rubber tread. 1 tread wheel is ripped but stays on while moving. All handles firmly attached. I am planning to be there (newbie to this site, but not a newbie to smoking). If I can get to a butcher later this morning, I might be able to bring some sausages if I can borrow some grill space.

I'm sorry to report I'm not making it. I was an hour north of home when we all stopped on 23 N. with a really bad accident about a mile ahead. Detour was a huge one with a lot of back tracking. Siri had me getting to Detroit 2-2:30 so I bailed. Sorry fellas. I didn't want to get there then leave shortly after to be home at a good hour. Really bummed, I was really looking forward to the good company and food. There's always next year, and the wife and I are planning already to go to the Chicago meet and make a little trip out of it with the kids.
I love my iPhone but Siri and Maps aren't the best. I should have listened to you @buckeyesmoker and just started out on 33 to 31.

One of the cool stories behind this event is @No1Agent saved probably $500 or more on shipping by bringing 5 grills, 3 going to Ohio and 2 staying in MI and taking 6 grills, one dropped off in Grand Rapids, 3 in Chicago, 1 going to Iowa and one going to Nebraska. Hidden in this is @zavod44 letting him borrow his sweet grill porter to get it back and forth.

Yup, I finally figured that out. People often get Cedar Rapids and Grand Rapids confused. I thought that's what was going on until I opened my eyes a bit.

One of the cool stories behind this event is @No1Agent saved probably $500 or more on shipping by bringing 5 grills, 3 going to Ohio and 2 staying in MI and taking 6 grills, one dropped off in Grand Rapids, 3 in Chicago, 1 going to Iowa and one going to Nebraska.
