Indirect the whole time about 300 on the grate temp approx 30 minutes the veggies still had a perfect slight crunch

Our local Wal Mart did start carrying Cowboy Briquettes,  twin pack, two 20 lb bags for $20.  That's what I've been getting, and it's been working great. 

I have had no issues with reusing the partially spent charcoal.  Used 3/4  chimney of charcoal from previous burn, and 1/4 fresh charcoal tonight on chicken thighs.  Came out perfectly.
