New Years Day Tri-Tip
« on: January 01, 2014, 06:52:43 PM »
Happy New Years, everyone! Here was the first dinner of 2014!

The 1989 'L' 18.5" redhead, ready to begin. 1st time I've used the sidekick table (acquired from ramsfan/Bob):

Pecan smoke!

Tri-tip on!

Resting:

Sliced:

Sharing a plate with some taters & arugula. The tri-tip was medium/medium-well. Definitely over-shot the mark there, but it was still tender, and damn tasty! Wound up with just enough left over for a lunch sammie tomorrow!

Here's to more great cooks and kettles in 2014!

Nice setup! I particularly like the red fade 18. It would match my red fade MT.  ;D I like the way you've set it up with the table, slide away and ash bucket. (Need a drool emoticon.)

That tri-tip looks pretty good too! (Really need a drool icon!)
kettles, smokers...

Nice tip & even nicer kettle, man........

Tips will still be OK at well done if they don't cook too, too fast getting there....looks great !!!!
