WSM Patio Cruiser

[SMOKE FREAK]

I was getting tired of lugging my 18" WSM around my cooking area so I built the Patio Cruiser.
Made entirely from salvaged/repurposed lumber.
8' of 4X4 and about a half mile of 2X4.
None of the boards have been exposed to weather. Some of the 2X4s are near 30 years old. Hard as heck.
Built like a tank. Glued and screwed. FREAKin heavy. But the steel casters roll like a dream.
Since there are about 4 different colors of wood I'll either paint it or leave it to age in the weather. Kinda rustic redneck.
To test drive the cruised I pulled the drip from the bullet and cranked it up to 400 degrees.

That really eliminates all the inconveniences of a wsm. Nice work!  I almost never used my water pan.

Got the WSM used with no pan. Bought a 14" pizza pan to use as a heat deflector/drip pan. Some cooks are just better without it.

Awesome!   Love “rustic redneck”.

I believe a Smokey joy lid also works well as a deflector.

The cruiser looks very cool. Nice! 
But I'm afraid the cook upstaged the cart.  That sausage and sides are drool worthy!

I like it, especially the milled edges of all the wood which give it a smooth look and feel I'll bet.  The lid hanger is awesome too.  I wouldn't paint it, but maybe give it a light stain then when you're happy with the color give it a few coats of polyurethane.  That's going to last a long time, nice job!

Really nice job on the cart! Just can't go wrong with that old wood - rustic redneck makes the best food! Lol
