So looking to get a smaller Weber strickly for camping or day outings. I can't decide between the Smokey Joe, Jumbo Joe, and the Weber take anywhere grill. For a family of 3. Which would you recomend?

I really like my jumbo joe.   Portable and more space than the SJ and CGA.   I have mine at the beach right now.

I'm Team "CharcoalGoAnywhere".

More versatility & grilling space than the SJ.
Much easier to pack, carry, and store than the JJ.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn't?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I've amassed a nice collection, but I'm missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

+1 on a CGA you can cut the grate in half and store small tools, weber starter cubes, lighter and nearly 2lbs of charcoal inside of a mini chimney. Everything you need in a tight compact spot ready to role

Jumbo Joe or CGA all day. I have the JJ and love it.

This is a philosophical question with no one correct answer, but it perfectly illustrates why we need so many different types/sizes of grills in our arsenal.

I've settled on the CGA for single day outings, and a shorty 18 for multi day camping if it's just my wife and I.  But if there's even the remotest possibility of other friends and families joining us, I wouldn't hesitate to bring a shorty 22" or 26" for multi-family gatherings.

PS, I do keep a CGA packed and ready with essentials in my SUV because you never know when you may be volun-told to be in charge of cooking duties.

I use to be in the JJ camp, but the CGA gets my vote all day long especially a Red CGA
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Thanks all. You've helped me to decide on a CGA for now....I have a wierd feeling a JJ is in my future as well.

I'm with brewtownbeatdown...charcoal go anywhere. The propane is probably really convenient for camping (Not having to tote charcoal etc) but I'm opposite Hank Hill...Im all about charcoal and charcoal accessories. Guess the real question is...which are you?

I use a smokey joe, just because that is what I have.  Many camping trips, RV and tent.  Always good!  But now I may need to try a go anywhere.  Can't have too many grills.  She'll get over it.  LOL

I have a JJ as well. And never tried a CGA.

Just curious, what makes the CGA better for those who voted for it?
