Hi everyone,
I have a eber performer irca 2011 and it is by far the best grill I have ever owned. The other day a limb fell out of a tree and took out the lid.  I have read that Weber will not sell you a lid and if they do, it is quite expensive with shipping.  I was wodering if any of you knew if the Jumbo Joe or the Classic Kettle lid would work with my old Performer.  I would rather pay a lil more and get the extra grates. I would just go to a store and check them out but I have REALLY poor vision and can not maneuver the store. I am a ship to home kinda guy.. On the plus side, I socially distance better than anyone.  haha
Thanks for any reply
Mike

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

@melweezo A 2011 Weber should still be under warranty.  Register your grill at Weber.com then contact customer service via phone or email and they should send you out a new lid free of charge.  If the first representative won't do it, call or email again.  You should be able to get a lid replaced pretty easy for free.

I called 3 times yes

I called 3 times yestery and the answering service just kept hanging up on me. I am sure the lockdown has them in dissarray.  I did send a email but no response yet and then I found this site and thought it was worth asking here.

If you're on Facebook I've found weber very response to sending them a message

My experience with Weber reps after a tornado smashing my copper did not result in a free part. I have heard many times Weber sends free stuff... I was honest, told them what happened and they quoted me $80 for a replacement lid. Needless to say , the lid has some character.

Looks like a good candidate for the 'Ol Bowling Ball trick.

Search this site for bowling ball for additional info.
Trust me.  It works

You'll need a bowling ball and a dead blow hammer.

I use a folded crappy blanket under the dent.
Hold the bowling ball on the inside of the grill and whack it
real good with the hammer.
Work slowly and move the ball around.

Weber won't warranty tree damage. The 10 yr warranty on the bowl or lid is for burn through or rust through.
