Hey y'all, the seasoning went excellent. Here's a pic. The hinge is built into the design, no hinge pins etc. the flip up doors also are removable/ like a lift off style. Opening is bigger than normal to make adding or re-arranging fuel to a burning fire easier.

Very cool!

For inquiring minds, check out Malory or Napoleon CI grates. They have the exact same sides detachable hinging design.

Thanks green web!!  True, they do have similar. But mine is steel, not cast iron.  Also, they don't offer this for the WKC die hards!!!!

Keep your eyes open for these to be offered in the for sale area of WKC forums. I'm kicking around making and shipping these if there is enough interest.

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Wife said "No more GRILLS in this house!" So I bought a 2nd house!

Red_5_Wrangler

Grate work!
I would put down about $100 for one of those.

Very true! I knew it was carbon steel grate which might have some advantage over cast iron grates. Custom logo make it all that more appealing. Nice work.

Wife: Let me guess... you want to grill again

andrewshrm

That's amazing.  Was it really cast?  Or maybe waterjet / mill?  Looks totally high-end.  Would love to see how it puts marks on a nice porterhouse.

Lilyankee

andrewshrm Correct, it is laser cut on a CNC laser. It does a really nice job putting marks on steaks when you crank the heat up. Strangely, I haven't taken any pictures! I guess I get get so excited to eat a beautiful steak I forget that part!
