My daughter, 12, has recently gotten into records, which I find really cool this day in age of streaming music and digital everything. I told her that grandpa (my dad) has quite a record collection and she was eager to investigate when we were visiting today. Before today, Kate had one record of her own: a copy of Queen’s “a night at the opera,” which she has fallen in love with since Bohemian rhapsody came out. She has a portable Crosley player.
Anyway, grandpa was generous to add to her collection, including my mom’s Beatles records, all vintage, of course. Mom’s been gone for several year’s so I think it’s so fun that she can relive her grandmother’s youth, especially knowing The Beatles came on the scene when her grandmother was about Kate’s age.
I got walk down my own memory lane, too. Dad has all of my record collection. I got into collecting vinyl in high school, and I love classic rock. I finally brought home my collection (you haven’t really moved out till all your stuff moves out). Here’s my Zeppelin collection. I have all the studio vintage stuff except Led Zeppelin 3.
Funny, now I have to borrow my daughters record player to “get the Led out!” Lol.
