I got a really nice deal on an old Performer Deluxe, 22". Photos enclosed. According to the back tags, and a serial number beginning with DE, it was made in 2009. The thing is in good, not excellent condition. Meaning no appreciable rust, fine to cook with immediately, etc. Normal table (plastic) stains but really not bad. The gas dial is frozen, but parts are out there.
The worst thing about it is the bowl lid. Someone evidently dropped it along the way and the top is
very slightly bumped in. just enough to be aggravating considering how well the rest of it looks. The labeling on the back appears to indicate it might have been an export model. But that's not unusual here in Jacksonville, we have a HUGE military population here bringing back stuff from all over the world.
Will any kettle lid fit that 22" model bowl? Old kettles in good shape are all over Craigs List from time to time. I can get a new lid for $135.00 but that is way more than I paid for the whole shooting match. I thought just getting a used kettle with a nice lid might work.
Any advice and info about my old performer welcome.
And by the way, hello.
Tom
