Thanks for the pics - mine definitely has a larger gap, but good to see yours also had a gap.

I tried to bend it and it seemed to always bounce right back to its original shape. I will give it a try and if it leaks like crazy I will give CB a call and see what they say.

Sounds like a good plan. I wouldn't mess with trying to bend it. I briefly tried and it's beyond my capability. It's very stout.

One of my 18 CB doors had a little bit of gap on the corners. I was able to contour it into the correct shape with a little persuasion. Also make sure that SouthCo latch is tightened down fairly tight.

Fired up the WSM with the new door and it leaks like crazy. Much worse than the stock door. I sent CB and email. So disappointed

The left side also leaks, but is an acceptable amount

That bites. Mine doesn't leak at all. You have the latch tight ?

Another option for tightening up an 18WSM is to install the stock door upside down.
The only down side is that it will take two hands to open/close the door so wear gloves!

Yeah its really tight. Either the door is defective or my wsm is out of round.

Right, and tightening it won't help if the issue is that the curve is too relaxed.

Install your lower cook grate, get it decently centered in the support tabs, and observe the surrounding gap. This will give you (and Cajun Bandit) some idea of the roundness of the center section just above the door.

I just made my own homemade latch
Cost me about $3 and works a lot better than the one they are selling

I emailed Cajun Bandit last Friday and this Tuesday about my poor fitting WSM door and I have yet to receive any type of response. I even shared my phone number.

I am really shocked at the extremely poor customer service. I know many have had great experiences with Cajun Bandit, but they will never get another cent from me.

Sorry to hear about your experience.

I remember someone awhile back saying they weren't able to reach him via email. I don't remember the reason, (seems like it was a website issue or something along those lines). Anyways, he did get the message and took care of that customer. I don't remember what the issue was. Hopefully they will take care of you soon.

I sent a message to the CB Facebook yesterday and after initially receiving an automated response saying they dont monitor it, I got a response today.

They asked me to try and reshape the door and if that doesnt work or I dont feel like I should have to do that, they will issue me a refund.

I plan to try again to reshape it again this weekend with hopes of keeping it.

Check with swamprb. I'm sure he would know the best way to reshape. Did they offer any ideas on the best way to bend it?
