Ground turkey doesn't have to suck
« on: March 20, 2017, 04:57:40 PM »
Ground turkey...Given the Italian sausage treatment...
Meatballs around the mighty "V"...

Meatballs done...Lose the Vortex and spread the coals a bit...
Some squash on to get some color...

Squash indirect and some shrooms in butter...

Made some gravy...

Meatballs stirred in the gravy with some sour cream...

And plated with some buttered noodles...

And that was Saturday on my patio...
Thanks for looking....

Well, that ground turkey certainly doesn't look like it sucks. Looks great man.

Anytime you can mix a kettle, cast iron, meatballs, gravy and sour cream, something great is happening. [emoji106]

Did you just add flour to the butter and mushrooms to make the gravy?

Wondra flour, beef stock, and some seasonings including some thyme i think...
The Wondra flour makes for a very smooth gravy/sauce...

Oh my.......    Looks amazing.  Need to give it a try!!!
Lets just say I have acquired a few Kettles.  Big and small.   Vintage and New...  Some say I have a problem.  I find the Kettle, buy the Kettle, USE the Kettle...No problem...

Grate looking cook I love using the CI on the grill just like that
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

I mixed this with the ground turkey along with some hot pepper, some bread crumbs, good quality Parmesan, and an egg...

This is a great sausage mix...Not real big on the fennel flavor that is so often the "Italian sausage" flavor that we all know...
