so on my jd there was what looked to be paint on the lid, scrubbed with 0000 steel wool and it didn't do anything took a plastic brush wheel on my dremal at low speed and it like smeared it and now I can get the smearing to go way (picture 2 kinda hard to see) what would you do to get rid of this, I was thinking using a buff/ polish method like I would on a car.
Thoughts?

I've had success removing paint with a razor.

Are you sure it's paint & not a scrape into the enamel?

Maybe try a clay bar or some polishing compound. Have you tried the "get it hot" method?

it faded when I hit it with the plastic brush. hopefully some polish and a good buff will take the swirl marks away at least

soo got the marks off that I made, I'm a mechanic at a dealership, asked our detail department for some help, little bit of scuff compound and a power buffer and voila sparkles like a Dimond in a goats ass
