Pork-A-Bobs
« on: October 02, 2016, 06:46:29 AM »
I chunked up a pork loin, and marinated in this:

2 TBS toasted cumin seeds, ground up
4 Scallions, sorta roughLEE chopped
1 Jalapeno pepper, minced
1 Garlic clove, minced (more is betta...)
1 chunk of fresh ginger, maybe 1 inch cube minced
2 TBS vegetable oil
1 TBS Dark brown sugar (or light)
1/4 cup + 2 tsp good soy sauce
1 tsp Chinese 5 spice
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste (be careful with the salt)

Mix this all together with a whisk or a stick blender. Place the pork chunks and the mix in a bag into the fridge, scooch it all together, and let it marinate at least 4 hours. Skewer them onto the Fire Wire skewers and place around a screaming hot Vortex full of RO briquettes. I never had to flip the 'bobs... just let them sit and get nice and golden.

Here's what happened...

This got served up with oven baked broccoli and Jasmin rice... yum!

Thanks for lookin' at my cookin'!

Thanks!!

Fire wires rock! I use them a lot, and they are perfect for the kettle/Vortex combo!

They were on the grates maybe 20-30 minutes... I did not time them, I went by the internal temp. I took them to 150 IT...
