There is a new style door mod for the 22" WSM (18" soon) on the market!

http://www.bbqsmokermods.com/product-p/ll-uwsm-qcdr.htm

Lets discuss!
I cook on: Backwoods Gater, Lang 36, Hunsaker Smokers, Pellet Pro 22" WSM, BGE's, WSM's, Cajun Bandits, PK Grills, Drum Smokers, Genesis Silver C, Weber Q's, Cookshack 008, Little Chief, La Caja China #2, Lodge Sportsman...oh yeah! Weber Kettles! Kamado restoration and pit modification hack!

Wow. I think that's a little overkill.

Not sure if I'd spend a hundred bucks on a door!  But interesting to say the least.
Too many grills and too little time! Looking for a  BLUE GENESIS GASSER! Will pay a bounty!

I agree. Maybe a bit overkill. Still cool though!
Looking for colored 18's and SJ's.

I wouldn't put it on a wsm. But it would be sweet on a UDS.

Kind of agree.  Interesting concept.  A little high priced.  I'll with my Cajun Bandits.

For function, probably nice.
For looks, I wouldn't put it on a WSM.

I think it is a neat idea. I rarely if ever use the door on my 18. I never refill the water pan and normally do a good job guessing correct charcoal amount and don't need to refuel.

I wonder if it will change the way to cooker cooks. If it will change airflow being less streamlined.
Hotty Toddy!

I've logged more hours with 18" WSMs than anyone I know and I'm not sure I ever used the door even once.  I found the door the weakest part of the whole system.

What size pot is this? How big around, how deep?  What name brand ?  This looks pretty sweet, thanks.

Interesting... but my initial opinion is... HELL NO.  I rarely open my smokers except to place or pull the food.  If i need to refuel I usually just lift the body off so I can organize ideally.
