What is the best way to put an original finish back on my handle?
The bottom of it almost looks varnished.

I wanted this photo taken out back with the rest of the family but it was raining this morning.
New family photo tomorrow maybe.

Still no family photo.
Lit a half a chimney of Stubb's.
Then through in a few hickory and oak blocks for a lil bit of seasoning.

Wearing a borrowed ash pan from one of it's bigger brothers.

I hope to cook on it tomorrow.

Looks nice! I think I'll also search for an 18. Great addition to the lineup and nice for smaller cooks.

@Lemans
Try soaking an old towel or bar rag / shop towel w/ apple cider vinegar....lay it on for awhile, then razor scrape at a low angle....
The vin softens the crud & the stink of it will cook off in a few minutes....
"If you want it fancy there is BBQ spray paint at home depot for that. "
    Covered, damper-controlled cooking.....IF YOU PLEASE !!!

I use soap as a lube sometimes and a blade holder almost parallel to the surface. Much like you would hold a blade to remove an old city sticker on your windshield in a car.

That is one classy kettle. Beautiful restore job on it. Love those wheels.

Thanks.

I was looking at them today. I need to mask off the rubber and shoot them with a flat or matte clearcoat to prevent the rust from returning.
Only so much original white paint there to scrub.
