I originally bought it for $10.

Sandblasted everything and powder-coated the frame.
Replaced ever part with new except frame, fire-box and control panel.
All stainless steel hardware, axle, castors etc.
Stainless steel grates, flavorizors and 'Z' brackets by RCPlanebuyer
Made a new stainless front panel (original steel one was rusted out)
Redwood wooden pieces by Brian zavod44 (thanks Brian)
Tank cover and gas-line protector
Just have to apply tank scale label. (I have an original one)
I chose not to install the 2 drop down front shelves, for aesthetic reasons.(I have them)
Cover, not shown
Original manual, not shown

What a gorgeous Genesis! Great job!!

That's a hardcore hose, reg and tank setup you've got there too! Such an awesome BBQ - that will outlast almost any new grill out there

Thanks Matt.
Mine was in about the same condition as your's started out, but missing all the slats and Z brackets.
It's my first Weber gasser and I am amazed how hot it gets.
Have not used it yet as I use charcoal and my smoker more in the summer.

Wow! That looks phenomenal!! Great job! Love the stripes on the hood of the Platinum. The bar for these Genny's is getting pretty high! @Gpinch1 do you have any "before" pics?

Hi Bob,
I can't find the before photos but it was as bad as possible. It was missing all the slats and Z brackets.........
Shhhhhh..... it's not actually a true Platinum model. I swapped the Platinum lid off another gasser. This model originally came with the plain red lid. For aesthetic reasons I liked the Platinum graphic detailing, so I swapped.
I know there are purists out there that will scoff at making changes from the original. I built this based on my specific aesthetics, needs and improvements.
I didn't like the office chair casters so I replaced those with stainless ones. The front metal panel originally came to me rusted out, so I made a stainless replacement.

Outstanding job! This is inspiring as I am about to be getting a red Genesis myself and will be restoring soon. Looks showroom new!

Thanks everyone.
It was fun to do.
The goal was to build better than new, to last for many more years.

It looks awesome....I can't believe how much wood was on there.  I was cutting and cutting and cutting.....
