Can be a little rough on startup.....
But, it burns long & hot & smells divine.....

Easier to get lit than Wicked Good, which really is Wicked Good.....

It doesn't do that down in the cooker, it really behaves quite well, once going.............. ;D

I've got ONO also, but haven't opened it yet........

This fixes the sparking problem...like now, man.....

I'm surprised fruit wood sparks that much. Ono will also since it's basically mesquite. I have B&B oak right now, but have been using BK lately. I really like BK because it's consistant, no sparks, it lasts longer than any lump I have tried, economical and it's great for long slow cooks where I can just add the wood of my choice. Having said all of that, I like grilling on lump much better, it's just a lot more expensive. So, I guess I will keep buying both. I'm not a big fan of natural briquettes these days. I hear the Wicked brand is great though.

I'll have to try this when I use the Cowboy lump in the chumney.

I've never seen that Groveland.  Where do you get it at?

I've been using nothing but Wicked Good lately.  Before that it was Royal Oak, but my local Wally world stopped carrying it.

Eastex

I'm a B&B Oak Lump user as much as I can afford too. Kinda want to get a bag of their Mesquite too, its been awhile, just to mix things up a bit

The Orange Tree I've been getting from a lighting & appliance store that sells also Big Green Eggs;
that & the Ono are going @ 2 for one, so $15 for 20#....until they run out, then carrying something else along w/ BGE which is, I think mfg. by Royal?

The only thing I don't like about stubbs is that I can't control the smoke flavor because it's so smokey.

i love that the blog post made a remark about discovering Parmigiano-Reggiano

I haven't bought regular parmesan since I've discovered Parm-Reg about 10 years ago.

Ahhhhh, The age old question, "Which is better"..........lol
I've tried a few different brands, seen others use different, but personally I like to use GFS (Gordon Food Service) brand hardwood lump. It don't seem to spark nearly as much as other lump I'v tried.....
Just my 2 cents
We reach for the K Blue first, never lets you down ;)
