AcrossFromHoss came over with a whack of chicken thigh quarters. He seasoned them with his Mom's creole rub. For the cook today was my vortex cooker...the Copper, my Green 18 and the Black 18 served as my charcoal station:

At the first flip:

Done. This didn't take too long at all:

Dinner for two:

Only ever done wings with the vortex. I gotta say I think thigh quarters do up even better. Perhaps the extra meat taking longer gives the skin more time to crisp up.

Just when I talked myself out of a vortex. Skin down first? Looks good guys.
Still need a 22" yellow

Skin down first?

Started with skin up, flipped about half way done then a final flip before done. I use the vortex for chicken solely. It has paid for itself.

I look like John Candy ate Elvis but Hoss is getting lean these days :)

Great tasting chicken. Smoked with Bourbon barrel. Leftovers were frozen for use in soup, jambalaya and to shred for a take on turds using cream cheese and cheddar cheese.
