Chicken Kabobs

Found these flat skewers at Home Depot and decided to give them a trial

Started with marinated boneless and skinless chicken thighs

The length of the skewers was perfect for this application :)
Added Tomatoes and Peppers

The chicken cooking nicely

Almost done



Also cooked some mixed veggies on the lumberjack skillet

And dinner is served :)



The skewers worked really well and will try them on the Weber Go Anywhere next :)

I love jamming thighs onto my thick skewers. They are juicy and fatty enough to get a nice char on the outside before the middle is overcooked.

The veggie look awesome too.

Hadi, if you are not already cooking as your profession, you should be. Your cooks are always first rate with exceptional presentations.   I am still waiting for your neighbors house to go up for sale so I can move in and "drop by" for dinner (like every evening).

Agree completely!  Great looking cooks.

I've added these to my Christmas List, my GF & two daughters give me too much grief to buy anything for myself in December!

The cook is great, but I've gotta ask about that ring in the middle that you use to support the skewers.  Interesting idea, keeping the chicken off the surface of the grate. But where did you get it it?

That ring was a Dutch oven trivet that I got from Amazon.com a while back. I cook Kabobs Mangal style or Grateless. And the ring helps elevate the skewers off of the grate.
I also like to take advantage of the round shape of the kettle and follow the contour of it to fit as many skewers as possible. If Lay the skewers across the Kettle per the traditional way, you can only fit few skewers at a time. Any small cast iron or metal pan can also be used in the place of the trivet.

@BBcue-Z -  That is freaking sweet!!!!!  Really don't need the lid for kabobs, and this way gives you so much more room!

You're absolutely correct! Kabobs do not require a lid. The pieces are two small and they cook quickly. Also I like to cook them over high heat, which requires turning the skewers often and the lid would get in the way. Traditional Mangal grills (Kabob grills) have no lids. And yes, this method does maximize the room on the Kettle :)
