I didn't realize they made two different sizes and hardly noticed myself until I sat them right next to each other...

I much prefer these to the new guys 8)

I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

@SixZeroFour , are the wider ones shorter? I have one (unfortunately just a single... not a pair) wire basket that is wider and shorter. Much closer to the current, stamped aluminum charcoal basket. Definitely prefer that one to any of the other baskets I have.

I think that these used to come, standard issue, with the Gen1 SS Performer.  When I found my SS, there were a pair with it, and often pics on CL offering SS Perf's also show them???   I used mine just the other day, they're really cool.                            SJ

The pair I have, look just like the ones on the left. They came from an older SS Performer I picked up in the spring.

Yea the larger set is the "Standard" set that came with the performers etc - it's the smaller 18" set that's new to me...

@Bob BQ - no these are full height and sit just barely under the cooking grate. They hold more than the new ones for sure. Will snap a side pic in a few min here.

@Jason I am going to measure the two sets as well - I have 5 or 6 sets of the larger ones so I'm pretty sure those were the std issue on the right.

Somehow I doubt it but, are these still available? I wouldn't mind getting a set.

@Jason   You gonna have to ask a Grillfella that has spares :)  :)                               SJ

Thank  you for posting this.   I just drove directly to my old-school hardware store, having remembered seeing one of these on the back of a shelf.  $29 seemed a bit high, but if they are as good as you all say, i did it.

Mine is 11 inches long and 4 3/4 tall.

Thanks for looking

OK so I was wrong... surprise surprise!

The larger set ARE the anomaly here so I think @LightningBoldtz might be right in thinking they are 22" and 26" baskets. I went out to the BBQ bin in the backyard and sure enough both sets are the smaller version, and then my NOS set is small as well. The only place I could have got them from if they were for a 26" from would have been from my chief but I honestly don't recall for certain if it came with baskets or not.

Believe it or not they DO still sell the standard 11" Version at eReplacementparts and Amazon:

Here are the details:

Small set = 11" long x 4" wide x 5" deep
Large set = 12-1/4" long x 4-3/4" wide x 5" deep

@Beef if you paid $29 for the set you did real well nice score 8)

How fun  ...  my set, from a 1992 Gen1 SS Perf, measures 12-3/4" long x 5-1/4" wide x 3-1/4" deep (same measurements that are depicted in 604's shots).  Must have changed manufacturers at some point since my set is a little shallower (at least one rung) and a little longer.  In any case, I really like using these rusty old baskets :)  ;D

Also noteworthy, my Perf is, of course, a 22" kettle ...

Interesting... my solo basket's inside measurement is exactly 12" long x 5" wide x 4" deep. The aluminum stamped baskets are basically the same, although just slightly shorter.  Here are a few comparison to the "newer" wire basket.
