Last chapter. Grates and Flavorizers. Thanks to a very generous donor who didn't want me hacking up a perfectly serviceable set of bars and grates from my 3000.

Ready to make memories all over again. The new story in Junior's life begins...

Lumpy Coal

That looks amazing!  Great job!

Santo

Hell of a job @MartyG, impressive work.

Heyjude

The restoration came out great. The grill has another 30 years of life!

Got her dirty tonight; boneless thighs and corn on the cob. Worked like a champ. You'll have to imagine the pics. Heat distribution was very good, and it will peg the thermo on high. Need a roti rod mod next, can't wait to spin a chook!

Jeff

Marty, that turned out amazing.  Looks better than new.  Great work as usual.
Kettle collector AND cooker!

I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

Thanks to my SIL, I added a roti that fits great and looks to be the same vintage. Had to barely massage the openings to fit the adjustable "bearing" and still allow the lid to close properly.

Grates will be removed when in use - you get the idea...

Great finishing touch for such an inspiring restore.  It can't be said enough, well done Sir, well done.

Great restore! Craftsmanship is excellent, it looks brand new!
I'm gonna have to start checking out the gasser page more often!

It's a nice Weber life in the mountains

Wow, what a great restoration, well done!! Just noticed this thread now, little late. Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for burners for the Jr? So unfortunate that Weber doesn't carry them.
