Wood Dale '49er
« on: July 07, 2015, 08:34:02 AM »
I would like to take some serious credit for the RRR of this classic kettle..but, I can't!   ;D

I picked this up last spring from @Dale Benson  during an informal meet-up in Tucson. He had already done all the cleaning and polishing that you see here. @Winz provided the ash pan clips. All I did was put it all together and take some pictures!  8)

What it looked like in the 1963 catalog (Thanks @reillyranch via TVWBB):

This is what it looks like today:

Thanks for looking!

Love me some Wood Dale!

Nice to see it completed JC - such a classic.  I remember the first time I saw it in your sea of kettles - it really stood out.   Very classy.

What a looker! Do the lid handles on the Woodales get hot? I've always wondered that.

The lid had been painted with silver paint and it had a lot of built up carbon and gunk inside when I found it. Otherwise it was in very good condition.

Dale that is the first time that I have seen the picture with the silver paint. You really did a great job cleaning it up!
Thanks again! [emoji4]
