Kettle Kabobs
« on: December 31, 2014, 03:30:16 PM »
“Here are the pictures as promised 1buckie :)
Made kabobs for New Year’s party. They’re the perfect finger food for this occasion :)
Started with Flat Iron steaks

They have a prefect shape and thickness for kabobs. Made two cut the long way

then few across, which yielded perfect cubes uniformed in size

Also started on the veggies

As I mentioned before, I place a metal plate in the center and arrange the skewers in a circular fashion following the contour of the Kettle. So they were not touching the grate (grateless)

Started each kettle with one chimney full of coals

In addition to the steaks, I had chicken, shrimp, smokies, and meatballs

Glazed the meatballs with Pomegranate molasses sauce

And the cooking is done

Also made Hummus and Baba ganoush

And couscous salad

And Maza :)

I love my kettle, it's soooo versatile  :)

Thank you ALL for the kind comments :)

That’s a great idea 1buckie!!
I will try to post some pictures there :)

argentflame,
I used a Dutch oven trivet on one kettle

And a gas burner cover elevated by a metal plate for the second kettle.

That's a heck of a cook and very cool use of the roundness of the kettle with the trivet that's genius
