Golly and I  have another big cook up planned for the end of the week and are wondering how many kettles we will need
The meat is sorted with the ranch it's the sides where wondering about
20 cobs of corn and 20 large potatoes
We have two rings on hand but will this be enough?
Last time we used the rings for a large cook up we packed the ring with corn but the lid wouldn't fit
What did we do wrong?

Had the same problem with the CnT. I've bent the pins that hold the corn down a bit and my lid then fit on my 22. Corn was fully loaded too.

If it breathes, we can cook it!

Use a roti or skewer ring to raise the height of the lid...............

Also, the C 'n'T's will fit over a normal grate, handle to handle, so you can cook extra stuff flat if need be.............

I've had the same trouble, and ended up just filling every other space in the ring.  With a couple of rings, I'd say you could do 20 ears in pretty short order.  Shucking the corn first will of course shorten the cooking time (and might arguably improve the flavor).

The roti ring or skewer ring would definitely work, though IMO the beauty of the corn-n-tater ring is the way it holds the corn right under the lid, allowing direct and reflected heat to magically cook every kernel all at the same time.

Thank you all , I thought I was missing something with this,
Using every second  space might work, thanks Mike
So if I did corn then potato and so on I'm hoping it might fit
I'll give it a try and get back to you all

Hogsy, FWIW my experience with corn on the ring is half a chimney worth of coals piled in the very center of the grill, plus 40 minutes for corn with the husks on.  Maybe 30 minutes without husks.  I never turn or otherwise touch it.

Thanks Mike, I might put the potatoes on first and then give the corn 45
I was thinking of husking the corn then wrapping in foil with butter and salt and pepper.
That way once it's cooked it's ready to serve

When I do tatters, I normally cross cut them, toss some butter and herbs in there and wrap them in foil. Then straight onto the coals. You could do that without using the cooking grate and then use the ring for corn.

Thanks Joe
We will have a fire going too so we can always throw them on the coals in the fire
But I'd like to make use of the ring after all it's what it was made for
They seem to cook them alright in the brochures

Maybe if I wasn't so busy reading the catalog and was watching what Marty was doing I wouldn't have a problem
