Got a Master Touch Project
« on: June 23, 2014, 04:07:41 PM »
I was visiting family in Illinois over the weekend and I managed to get my hands on a EE Master Touch.  The handles, legs, wheels, wire triangle and one-touch cleaning system are in bad shape but the bowl and lid look pretty nice.  I've got some nice wood handles off of one of my WGAs that I'm going to poly and they should look really nice on this.  Keeping my eye out for a local one-touch kettle that I cannibalize for all the other parts I need.  Does anyone know if the new one-touch systems will fit a master touch?

Here are some pics as it looks today.  I think it'll turn out pretty nice when I can get all the parts I need.

Don't get me wrong.  I was thrilled with the condition.  It's just kind of wobbly and the one-touch system is pretty rusted.  But that's easy stuff.

Newer OT system should work, but I don't know with the ash catcher can bar.... MT owners....??? Does it work?

Wow - beautiful kettle.  That is going to clean up nicely - congrats on the new project!

You are either going to have to use a 7409 replacement, or if you decide to upgrade to the new "H" style ash catcher you are going to have to replace the ash catcher ring and ash bucket.  Great article here by pbe gummi bear:

I think true value here on the se side has a 7409. You may want to call to confirm. I bought one there and they had more at the time.
