Thanks so much! I so love the spirit and passion amongst you all.  It's absolutely brilliant.  Thank you, too, for the kind words.  I'm glad you like it. It most certainly is a labor of love.

Cool post!  Does the blue 26 get any extra points for ease of use being the bowl is new enough to have a One Touch system?

Sure, but to some people the OT is a drawback.  ;)

Would you trade, Jeff?

One Touch or not, HERE I COME!!

Guess that gives away how I voted...  ;)

For friends looking to get into grilling I recommend two resources - this forum and your blog.  Glad you've joined the club.  I'm going to try those short rib tacos soon.

Welcome APP, we finally smoked you out. Can you please tell us how it is that you were able to persuade Weber to make you a blue smoker? :D

Ha!  Yes, you did!  A good friend of mine works for Weber, who I knew for many years prior before I started working for them.  He got it, as is, from work and in turn wanted me to have it.  From best I can tell, it wasn't made for anyone and the "official" word is that it was part of a "limited run."  I still remembering seeing it in his garage.  It was as beautiful then as it is now.  I absolutely cherish it.

Whenever it appears on social media through the Weber blog it generates quite the stir...althrough truthfully, I don't always try to capture it in a shot!  ;)

Thanks again everyone and sorry I was so slow to respond!

I've been deliberating on this for awhile.  That blue WSM took my breath away, but then I cooked on Marty's black flat-top 26 this weekend, and it was incredible (even now, if I close my eyes I can still see the spin marks in the lid).  So I gotta vote for the 26.
