Westerner - a few pics.

It took longer to get here than planned.  The seller and I were not happy with the carrier packing options.  We ordered specialty boxes from Uline designed for delicate and fragile items.

Gave the grill a bath and polished the legs and thumbscrews.  Will post more pictures later.

As a fellow Westerner owner, let me be the first to say that kettle looks fantastic!  It is in great shape - glad it made the journey without incident.

 Good Show !!!

Glad you did the "safe" thing rather than the quick ship...... ;D

Question:
Does it appear that the ash pan is not wide enough to catch falling bits of charcoal / ash at it's outer edge?

It seems to me they put the lower vents up kinda high on the bell........

Happy to see that it made it there safely. I am curious about the roti ring and the spit.  The ring doesn't seem to have a cutout, so I wonder how the spit was intended to be used when loaded with meat? Also, the grooves in the spit don't appear to far enough apart so that each can rest in the ring. Are the roti holes perhaps offset from center a bit so that spit can fit, or is there something else besides the grooves used to provide a smooth rotation of the spit?

Harris,

That is beautiful. I know it's in a good home. Make sure to take pics of that cook your planning on doing. Maybe a couple of brined yardbirds. You could fit three maybe four on that spit.

Looks to be in fantastic shape for its age. I wonder how much action it saw all these years?
