Thermometers

Hi All,
I know this has been asked and I have done some reading on it on WKC, I would just like to know would this thermometer suffice for checking meats etc.
I am trying to keep it simple at present , being new and also not spending too much $ at present.

Sorry to be a pain with questions already asked, it just sometimes I find it more reassuring to ask and for someone to say ,yep go with that for the time being.
Appreciate your help.

Andy if you're just starting out this therm should be fine for you. If you get serious I'd recommend the Thermapen at a later date. I love mine although it is a bit costly.

I also agree that you should get a Thermapen. They are pricey but nothing beats 'em!

I have been told that the $20-30 dollar pocket thermoworks thermometers work great also. Not quite as fast but still a great tool. I put this one on my Santa list. So I can check my pizza stone also.

I've had this one for a bit more than a year and for under $20, I am quite happy with it. Easy to calibrate too. Pretty fast response time and a good sized display -
