Interesting.

Chris also posted that sucky new Jumbo Joe.  I hate that, it looks horrible!  I'd take three of last years platinums before I would take that new jumbo.  For the record I don't mind last years platinum.  I like the brick red one.  Did they ever make a new blue platinum?

May be I'm being too picky, but how is the first one a Performer? Tiny table, no charcoal storage bin, no gas assist. And they want $230?

I agree with Chad, though I do like that metal table on the first one. It has nice lines (though maybe I'm saying that because it reminds me of the SS performers).  Looks like it swings down, which would make it more compact for storage.

The performer silver looks really dinky. The older otp looks better.

I agree with Chad about the Silver Performer.  Its nice that the table folds down...but its still too small in my opinion, which was part of the same problem that the newer style Platinums had.  And yes, 230 is too high in my opinion.  I know the OTG is 159.00, but I personally would never pay 239 for the Silver.   I'd just spend a little more and get the "real" Performer.
And Brian, I agree with you about the new Smokey Joe Platinum.  Don't like the design...the bowl looks too shallow like the European Compact.
I really wonder about Weber's design team the last few years and their price points.

Not a fan of the lil' guy.  Not sure how that is all that useful.  Small storage space but small table space.

If they offered any of those other than the platinum, in colors I might give them a thought, but just black.  No sir....I don't like em!  I might do a brick red jumbo, certainly most definitely a blue one.

My other thought on these, 20 years from now they will be the Weber fireplace, the ranger, or the wishing well.  They will be something so weird that no one will buy them and they will be the holy grail grills.  They will be rare because they won't sell.  Too much money and no one is really looking for these.  If they lowered the price $40 bucks across the board on these, they would be priced properly in my opinion...but as you know opinions are like...well you know what they are like..
