A few of you may know that Golly and I picked up a Ranch last week
We've been putting money away so when one shows up we would be ready to pounce
Finally one showed up on Gumtree , I totally missed the listing as it was listed as 'Barbecue with accessories but luckily Shayne2006 gave us the heads up
List price was $1000 ono ( retail price for a Ranch in OZ is $2399.00)
I rang and spoke to the seller and offered $600 which she accepted.... Woohoo
After chatting for a while she explained she was a Landscaper and had just finished a job on a large property 3hrs south of where we live
The rich clients gave her the BBQ after she finished building them a large outdoor pizza oven
From the photos it looked immaculate , it came with two chimneys that looked like they had been used once or twice
Now for the pick up, a friend of ours is a courier and he rang a colleague who picks up in that area
He organized his mate to pick it up, drop it at the depot then he picked it up and dropped it off at Golly's for $50
This was a great deal as golly and I were going to have to take a day off work to do the 6hr round trip and that's before we came up with an elaborate story to tell our better halves
We took it for a test run on the weekend and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed
