Last Fall, I spotted an older black 18 at the front of an apartment complex on my normal route home from work. I recognized the metal wheels and thought it had thumbscrews but wasnt sure. I periodically checked up on it throughout the winter, spring, and summer. It never moved. For the last two months or so, I watched as I stopped at a nearby stop sign just hoping to see someone outside so I could inquire about the grill. The place has been a ghost town....until today.
A woman was walking out as I pulled up to the usual stop sign. I quickly turned and entered the driveway leading to the complex. I pulled up to the gal, said hello, pointed at the grill and asked "Do you know who owns that grill"? She said "Yes....I do" (with a
why would someone ask about this grill look on her face). I said, "Would you be interested in selling it"? She said "Its pretty much junk, its in the way, and we never use it. We settled on a price and I happily carried a pre-patent 18 with metal wheels and thumbscrews to the truck. I guess perserverance does pay off.
It needs some cleaning but should shine up nicely.
