'83 Brownie Restoration (pic heavy!!)
« on: August 11, 2013, 01:36:56 PM »
This is my first real kettle restoration.  This 83 (Vent code E) Brownie was purchased from fellow WKC member cb4004 a few months ago.  It was in pretty decent shape, so this was mainly just a clean up and replacing a few parts, and upgrading to some of Brian's handles.  Some research shows that when this kettle was being sold, it was actually sold as a "Chocolate".  So, everybody sit back and enjoy a piece of chocolate!

The before pics...

Getting some of Brian's Handles coated with some Satin Spar

My main tools for the clean up...just some #0000 Steel Wool and some cheapo awesome Degreaser/Cleaner I picked up at Dollar General...

The after pics...

Installed the new One Touch cleaning system

I got the original Ash Pan shining up pretty good...

Also added a Weber Slide Aside lid holder...

Finished product...

Thanks goes out to cb4004 for selling me this kettle, Brian for crafting some great wooden handles, and Bman for answering my questions about the One Touch System!

Thanks for looking!
