80's cast aluminum griddle
« on: July 20, 2013, 04:15:16 AM »
Should have this sometime next week. Don't see them often, and it looks like a cool accessory for a kettle.

The reason this peaked my curiosity was the cookbook that Golly recently sent me. They had some pics and recipes using this accessory.

I can't wait to cook some breakfast like this.

Glad someone here got it....thats a cool find.  I was watching the end of that auction but it jumped past my top price quickly.  Are you planning to use it?

It is the one on EBay. I really like the old accessories, and I have only seen this one in books/old catalogs. I do plan on using it. I will take some more photos when it arrives. I pretty much have my grill collection set so I look to expand the use of them via accessories.

I came across one of these years ago and never had a kettle! It's still in the back of my ute after being used over fires when camping! Will have to dig it out and use it on the Kettle!

Golly, the on in the auction is a one touch designed for 22 inch kettles, according to the material on the box.

Does the cast aluminum griddle leave a metallic taste to the cooked food?
Sometimes when we go to a 'fancy' steakhouse they serve the meat on an aluminum plate that I find gives a distinct and objectionable flavor to the steak.

Cool! For a kettle gasser too! Great for maximum convenience and leisurely barbequing  8)

So, how far back does the one touch name go?

Dude, relax your chicken.

Just came in. Got home before the wife so it will likely blend in with all of the other stuff :)
There are some neat references to other items on the box - Weber's way of advertising other goods. Seems good quality, and it is the one for a 22.5 in kettle. I do plan on using it. The poor thing has been wrapped in that plastic bag for the last 30 years. It is asking to be used.
