I'm a true Weber fan.

I have not caught the Weber "Gas" product line. I focus on the kettle semi Kamado lines.

To me, gas grills "aren't it". I have no issue sticking with a brand that is time tested for that reason.

If I were to buy a gas grill at this stage in life I would go Weber. Forgive me, but don't see any other reason besides "brand" to do it.

Posting to just spark conversation, nothing more.

I appreciate and respect this club for honest response and input.

No way I'd spend new money prices for a Weber gas grill... that said, my $50 '98 Genesis will not be parted with.  Granted, I spent probably $300 getting it to where it is and Kellee calls it "her" grill and makes it known that it will not be sold or put out in the yard or storage unit.  It makes amazing burgers, works great with cast iron and THE best rotisserie chicken we've ever had.  I love it because it's old school Weber and red.... And mostly because it's something I restored and she loves cooking on it.

A joy to cook on she says.... Of course she's also big on HER summit, Glen blue 26 and yellow 18...none of these go anywhere as long as that smile is there.

I have one gasser.  A 2003 Genesis Silver A I bought brand new at Lowe's.   Still have the manual and cookbook.  It will always have a place on my patio at least until my son moves out.  It may go with him.   I've always wanted a 90s redhead Genesis like my dad's growing up.   He also had a gas kettle he bought in the mid 70s.  Gassers have their place.  I could not spend $850+ on a new one.  I don't think modern ones are built as well as older Genesis.

I'm not a huge gasser fan, but one is the reason I bought Webers to begin with. My stepdad had a black kettle he cooked on, and my dad bought a '97 Genesis 1000 redhead new and I first cooked on it. It's still here and actually I made steaks on it tonight.

I have a 2017 Spirit which doesn't get used a whole lot anymore. I kinda got into the older gassers and added two last year, a (likely) '89 Genesis 5000 which I absolutely, it was the top dog before the Summit debuted. It's got the glass enclosed cabinet which is precisely why I wanted it.

And then got a 2002 stainless Genesis Gold B at auction.

As the founder of the Weber Genesis Club, it is my humble
opinion that up to 2016 the Genesis was the gold standard
for great grills and bang for the buck. 
That changed some with the introduction of the Genesis II's. 
If I were buying new today, I would likely opt for the Napoleon
Prestige.   I don't buy new grills though.   For $200 to $400 you
can still pick up and refurb a Silver B/C or 300 series grill and
as good or better than anything you can buy in the store for
$1500.

Seeing this thread again made me think of a great wing recipe I need to find again.  These are ginger garlic rotisserie chicken wings and might just be on the menu this weekend.  Not sure what I'll cook on, but I recall these being really good.

**Edit - Found the recipe, pretty sure I omitted the flour since I put them in a roti basket**

Those look great, thanks for sharing the recipe, I'm going to have to give those a try.

Speaking of gassers, I put the NOS genesis 3 together yesterday. It was fun opening up a piece of history. As I put it together there were a few pieces slightly bent and some small dings on the underside of the front panel. It kind of made me feel better about opening it up and putting it together. It wasn't perfect, and for whatever reason that took some of my anxiety away about it. Looking forward to cooking on it for my lifetime!
