Thanks for all the encouragement to the Club!  We put a custom cut black walnut slab on a legacy performer. Not as pretty as wanted but I am in for the practial aspect of cutting board.

That's pretty awesome!  What did you seal it with?  Look into sending some small pieces to Zavod for handles

Very nice upgrade, well done!  Agree with CW, handles made from the same stock would be a nice finishing touch.

I just used multiple coats of Butcher Block , Chris, and will keep up with that unless someone recommends something better. I'll use mineral oil once I have the base coats well and good

Grate idea on the handles!  Zavod is making some for other projects for me, great guy (as all members I've interacted with on WKC)!

That looks so impressive!! All one piece! Wow!

I made a black walnut table for my performer.
Well, I no longer have the performer, but I still have the table.
Here is a WKC link.

I used tung oil to bring out the grain and it also achieved some really nice color.
Then I finished it with a couple three coats of spar urethane.

Looking forward to seeing yours finished!
Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.
