BBQ Guru Rib Ring and 4 Chickens on the 22"
« on: March 05, 2022, 07:01:58 PM »
Sons B-day party.

5 racks of ribs I cut St. Louis style and I threw in the rib tips just for grins. Added 4 whole chickens to the bottom rack. I was trying out the new BBQ Guru Rib ring.

Wish I remembered to take pics of the ribs after they were done. They came out great. I slightly over cooked them as a few were fall of the bone.

Smoked with hickory chunks and Kingsford briquettes.

I like to wrap my probe wires in foil makes clean up so much easier.

Nice looking cook.  You really loaded up that 22" WSM.  First I've seen of that rib rack - interesting use of dome space that's so often wasted.

The rack worked out really well. Ribs were a bit tight getting out since they shink and swell up after cooking but not to much of an issue. The only down side is the rack did take a good bit of time to clean up. But all in all I was happy with it. They advertise 6  racks can be done on it but I could only get 5.

I wouldn't think about using it for 3 racks or less. I would use a smaller rack for ease of clean up but 4 -5 racks and ill get it out for sure.
