Double Red Head Restoration-Final Installment
« on: July 05, 2013, 12:46:50 PM »
So I started on the restoration of the 95 MT and 69 Statesman, picked up last week on Vacation. Here are some in process action shots.

Parts after dis assembly

The kettles and tops as is

The bottom of the MT. Sweeper arms are GONE

Two happy legless, really clean Farkers.

Got my leg sets today and installed on the MT. Need to repaint the whitewalls on the Statesman and install Brian's handles when they get here Also got two new covers. More to follow.

Looking good!  :D  Brian does a sweet white tape for the old whitewalls. They come out awesome.

Brian can chime in and explain it better, but here' s a comparison of one I hand painted this spring, came out ok, but its a BEAR to stay in the lines..   ;D
Brian's tape looks very original & professional looking.

Hand painted.... These need a second coat yet.

Whitewall tape from Brian, this one is from my '75 black/grey fade 22.5

If you mean the steel axle bushings, yes I have. I cleaned them up with emery paper and they came put fine.  They were a bit rusty but still functional.

I meant the wheels themselves.  I had a pair I planned on redtoring, bmut after I cleaned them they looked great and painting would have likely made them look worse.

Well here is the 95 MT all finished. New handles, Thanks BRIAN!!! leg set, sweeper assembly and some grates. Had to have a cover as "Lucy" would get cold.

All polished up and ready to live again

Look at that shiny inside.

Should have the 69 Statesman complete this weekend
