FNG from OK
« on: January 13, 2019, 07:19:43 AM »
Been lurking. Great site. Loads of info.

From central OK.
Bought my first Weber in 2009 - a Spirit. Used it regularly for 5 years the it sat until this past summer. Cleaned it up and replaced the burners & igniter - grates were still in good shape. Since then I’ve remembered how much I enjoyed grilling.

Family got me a WSM 14” for Christmas and I’ve been getting geared up for a smoke. Have run 4 test fires just to get a feel for it. May try a cool today even though it only 40 degrees outside.

Other half says I need a charcoal grill - so I guess I’ll be getting a kettle soon.

This forum is outstanding. Glad I found it.
Thanks for all the info.

Been trying to do just that. I have no problem with doing the work to revive one - just can’t get folks to reply - 2 kettles @ 25$ & 40$ and a performer for 50$.

Just missed a Spirit that needed new grates going for 40$.

But since she wants charcoal cooking, she’ll end up getting her way - new or used it’ll be a Weber.

Wife said "No more GRILLS in this house!" So I bought a 2nd house!

Welcome to the club!!!

Greetings from Greendale, WI.  Glad you graduated from lurker status.  The other half sounds like the better half (says all of us charcoal fellas)[emoji23].

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞
