Picked up this birth year red head last fall and finally finished it up today. The folks that I bought it from used it as a table top so a) there were no legs, wheels or triangle and b) the ash pan was inside in the bottom. The good news is this made for a real easy interior cleanup. The bad news is the ash pan was holy hell to restore!

A big thanks to @JEBIV for trading me the period correct lowers for a K code Smokey I restored. It was great to meet you Joe!

This grill is in pretty remarkable shape for a 1970. There are a couple of small rust spots at the welds. I will fire this thing up for the first time this week to see what she looks like HOT!

My most awesome mother-in-law delivered the '51 repop to me this weekend... lurking in the background!  If you never heard the story of the reproduction, you can see it here:

Excellent job!

Is it going to be a looker or a cooker?

Wow she turned out beautiful, I personally would keep the original handle, but she's your girl do as you please. I should of had you take a few of mine and had you restore them while you were on a roll.
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill
