Go anywhere
« on: June 09, 2018, 10:37:44 AM »
Well I finally got tired of dealing with Smokey joe platinum with the side vents and bought a go anywhere. This is my first cook in it and I am doing beef tenderloin low and slow the same way I do brisket. This thing is awesome!!  Once I got it up to temp and the dampers set, it has been holding 235* for the past hour. I love it. One question though, what’s the purpose of the tabs in the lid?

Lid holder. It allows the lid to rest on the base.

I just picked up one of these today as well.

The tenderloin turned out great. Sorry no pictures. This little grill holds temp just as good as my master touch. I am impressed. I got 6 hours at 235ish with just the briquettes in the picture in the first post and there is still some left. I can see this thing getting lots of use.

GAs are crazy underrated cookers.  They are versatile, fuel misers, that are great at holding temps.

I think they are much better than the Smokey Joe Gold/Premium models. If you pack two GAs vs a single Outrider you’d get more cooking surface and I think you’d still save on space/cargo area.

Do the new GA grills come with the taco handle? Only knock is the handle gets REAL hot.

I think the temp of the handles is also my only knock. I replaced my plastic handles with wood ones cuz i had to put on gloves to move the lid off they got so hot

I would but it would cost more to ship it than what you can buy them for down in the US

IMHO the WGA is very underrated. It’s really a great little grill. Add some Craycorts. You’ll love them on the WGA. Their a split grate and really nice to work with.
