Brilliant job on getting her back up and running. Have you got grates for it yet?
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

I can give you a little info on that Kettle.....

It's the most amazingly  bad assed farking  Kettle that I have ever seen!     If I had a wife, I'd offer to trade her for it.

Congrats dude!   Awesome job on the restore too!

Cool grill Art!  Very nice.  I own the kettle with the cooper porcelain undercoating.  Im glad you choose that color.

I bought my first Wood Dale several years ago from a retired fellow by the name of Don. Don was an accountant and one of his clients in the 1950s and early 1960s was Weber Brothers Metal Works. Don spent quite a bit of time at the facility.

Don told me in the early years of kettle producing there was a lot of experimenting (porcelain coated legs, ash pans,  utility pans, triangles, unique custom lids and bowls, multi color combos to the "splatter grills").  At the time this info was passed to me, many people discounted it as a "foggy memory". However, over the past few years everything he told me has been proven true.

You mentioned you only bought a lid and a bowl. I do know that Weber made a very limited number of "splatter grill" Travelers. I think its at least a 75% chance this was originally THE ELUSIVE CUSTOM
TRAVELER...

I've been called the Robin Hood of Weber Kettles.

addicted-to-smoke

It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn't?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I've amassed a nice collection, but I'm missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

That was an attempt at humor.  Obviously, I'm not very adept at it.
