FIRST THE DISCLAIMER:
It seems that are varied opionions on all topics here but there are two cardinal rules that everyone here agrees on:
NO LIGHTER FLUID
NO PAINTING KETTLES
Forgive me, rule #2 was broken.
I got this idea a few years back for football season but the seasons came and went and other projects took precedent.
I got a free beat up OTS a few months back and decided now is the time to pull the trigger.
Three cans of high Heat spray,
Two decals for stencils and
One roll of painters tape for masking and stripes and it's ready:
J
E
T
KETTLE
JETTLE
JETTLE
JETTLE!!!
The paint job is rough. I'm no Picasso and the masking ripped off some of the green.
Going to use a few times to see if the paint can stand up to heat. If it does I may touch up. I think high heat clear-coat would help but we'd need so repainting before that.
If the paint burns then I'll paint flat black and at least have some funny photos.
Besides, if the actual Jets are a major work in progress, why shouldn't the JETTLE be one too.
