You do realize it is possible to rotate the cooking grate in any Kettle. Just take a pair of tongs and grasp the cooking grate near the center firmly and twist. No need to take food off.....been doing it for years.

Yes. I do that as well. I don't have the rotating grate and do not need a rotating grate, but like most gadgets, they just do something we already do in a convenient way. At least that's the idea.

Also … A pair of gloves (I use weld gloves), and the grate is rotated in no time. 
The gloves get used for many other things, too.  Been doing it for years.

I really like that shelf. I've always thought of the rotating grate so it's cool to see someone commercialize it.
