I'm itching for a cook this week. Maybe tomorrow or Saturday. Thinking some burgers on my new cast iron grate. I'll upload pics later.

rescued an 18.5 one touch silver (white handled) today.

Some chips in the finish and the wheel rings are brittle and falling off the wheels. I plan to make a one touch gold stuby for table grilling to match with my Joe's. I have 3 kettles already. Weberitis is kicking in.

Oh yeah...  you got it alright.  You soon will be crusing alleys and dark streets looking for those abandoned weary kettles on big item pickup.....  congtas on the 18.5 score..

RRR
Lets just say I have acquired a few Kettles.  Big and small.   Vintage and New...  Some say I have a problem.  I find the Kettle, buy the Kettle, USE the Kettle...No problem...

Welcome to the WKC, I am sorry that I missed this thread before. You are definitely starting down the road to weberitis quite nicely!

I saw this for free on a CL ad at 3 weeks old. I messaged the owner and he said it's still available. Picked it up on my way to my parents place.

As usual with projects, I got antsy and jumped into the work.

some scrubbing..

scrubbed..

I've been hangering for a midget. Cut the legs down and altered the triangle to work with the shorter legs.

The one touch system was junk. The blades were cracked and the system rusted solid. I need to order the vent system and grates and leg cap. I'm also going to add the gold ash can to make transportation cleaner.

As for the Weberitis, I need a red head or a yellow kettle... Some day I guess.

Bought myself a Performer and donated my SJG.

Red Performer no gas assist EE code.  It's in amazing shape for being 17 years old.

I got lucky and it popped up near me and my wife approved.

Welcome to the forum and thank-you for your service.  I suspect that you will get really popular around the barracks with that SJ.  Your food will probably come out way better than the stuff from the community grill.

Great work, @eLLWOODgGLEN I think you have the best of both worlds with the SJS and lid bale.

Cleaned up my Performer today, disassembled everything I could (1 touch is rusted but works) cleaned up everything.

Axle took the most work with my drill and some files then wet sand and then polished with a silicon sealing polish.

Beautiful. Nothing looks as good as the red and blue SSP in my opinion.
