I have been dreaming about doing something like this for awhile and finally ready to share what I am about to do. I never dreamed of doing 3 builds at once but like with my cool kettle scores, it just worked out that way.
You all know how much I like my current modded Spring Green Master Touch( not touching this one), but I have come to appreciate simpler looks of classic 70's and 80's kettles. Build inspiration comes from my love for Special Edition color Master Touch in both Green and Ivory, and my love for classic vintage kettles. Looks like my ideas are finally transferring to actual build I had in mind.
So, here is my take on what Special Edition kettles should be. Not necessarily just MT. Each one has different concept and representation.
Build #1. I am calling it- (Classic)
My take on classic vintage 70's kettle, especially MBH kettles. My attempt at retro build using Ivory or Spring Green Kettle. I am most excited about this build, we will see how it turns out. Going back and forth on Ivory vs Green. Not sure yet even after this "Hypothetical question- Ivory or Spring Green MBH " topic. I may do a mock-up on both before deciding.
Build #2. (One Touch Plus)
Akin to 1988 One Touch Plus that came before Gen1 1992 Master Touch, building a rendition of a modern classic version of One Touch Plus with left over color from #1 kettle build.
Build #3. (Copper Special Edition Master Touch)
Copper color was never offered in 2016 Special Edition MT line-up, so I thought it was cool to build my take on Copper Special Edition Master Touch kettle.
I have few large boxes already. Few more coming tomorrow and a one more on the weekend to start off the builds. Technically, builds has started but I am idling till I get all my items.
I will share more things as they come and the builds starts happening. I am sure I will be asking for more opinions as the build progress. Other smaller details to be worked out as the build progress, but I have most of it worked out.
