Over 3,000 posts in this thread, with many repetitive if not identical photos. Lot's of kool kettles in here somewhere, but who would know? Anyone care? Anyone have a better idea? The first version of this thread was killed off for the same reason. Back in the day we would take the time to explain, debate, ask questions, share details, share knowledge.

I know, I know...wake up and smell the mesquite.
@56MPG I started this "Explanation Necessary" thread a while back because I felt the same way, but it never took off.

Love it - thanks for the reminder. Oh, and a little explanation of your avatar...I created that one for use on a Pinterest site when I wanted to pull together pics of weber grills and categorize them by decade, along with some other misc stuff. Might still get back to that when I have time. The avatar was made from a photo I took of the original 52 at Weber HQ way back when. Glad to see someone actually found it there!

Is that the color change on a heated lime? or do I need to adjust my screen color settings.  That thing looks yellow!

@Lowbrass - My limes due have a slight color change when heated, but not as dramatic as a yellow.  They turn a different, drabber shade of lime but don't have the hot spots that yellows get with the orange spots.

Whoa!!! I wish this was in the "Explanation Necessary" thread. I would love to hear more about it.

I agree with Marty pictures are cool and all but the best part about our hobby is the story of the hunt and passing on the stories of the people we acquired the kettles from.

Very, very nice original 1950s Weber rotisserie.  Picked up by GrillGiant a few weeks ago... it's apparently found it's way to Georgia.

What are the odds we actually get an answer?
