making a run north of the border... CANADA
« on: August 23, 2016, 02:37:07 PM »
Just booked a trip to Niagara Falls for Nov.  I figured since I would be up north I would pick up a  colored weber or two that we can't get in the US.  I need a little help where do you buy a weber at in Canada?? do they sell them at home depot  or Walmart?  I am looking for the green white or grey. I am not sure if those colors are a special order or just on the shelf.  Also can I bring them back into the states or will I have to pay an import tax?  I am not even sure if there is a store close to the falls?  If you have any feedback please let me know. Thanks stellato
Stay grilling  my friends!!!!

I looked into taking a trip to Toronto a while back and tried to figure this out. Near as I can tell, you can bring $200 worth of goods back (per person) without paying a duty tax if your stay was less than 48 hours. 48 hours or more, that goes up to $800.

That's my best interpretation - but I'm still not sure. The US Customs and Border Patrol website is really surprisingly vague on this topic.

For comparison, the Canadian site is very specific:

Oh, and there is a hardware store in Toronto with the special edition MT's. Can't remember the name, though.

You won't find them at the big box stores. Just the special bbq shops. @Darko seems to have some info he can share as I recall.

This place in Toronto will have them:

"Why do you have so many bbq's?"....."I just like lookin' at em' sometimes....and I have enough purses and shoes"

Dickson BBQ in Toronto is your best bet for the colored limited edition grills.

Closest place to the Falls that will have them is Barbecues Galore in Burlington Ontario.

Correct! Don't even try Lawes.ca, Homedepot.ca, Walmart.ca. ...etc.   They don't have them.

These 2 are not the special bbq shops but do sell colored MT.  Sobies and Home hardware.   http://www.sobies.com/weber-master-touch-22-sobies/               https://brooklinhomehardware.ca/product/weber-master-touch-charcoal-grill-smoke-22-limited-edition/?v=3e8d115eb4b3

Just make sure to call ahead and make arrangements for pick up as these smaller location may have to pull them from their warehouse and may take up to a good half day.
