Hey dazzo, is that corner bead? Is it attached to the frame? Can you close the lid? From the 2nd pic angle it looks higher than the bowl.

Or is it going outward. Hard to tell. Great idea definitely. I wonder if that bead will bend and flex or eventually give, though.

Thoughts?

That was just rummaging around the bench.

Just angle brace, because it had holes.

Too lazy to cut n' drill.

Just wanted to see if it had a chance.

Next will be a short piece of flat stock. And probably a smaller piece on the other side for strain relief. Can't be cracking porcelain now.

Sweet idea Dazz, your on the right track. You might be able to position it back a little bit more and really open up the lid out of the way.
