Cool accessories from a recent CL purchase
« on: March 20, 2013, 04:08:15 PM »
I picked these up recently along with a wooden handled one touch (EZ). I was interested in the old style cast iron grate that was in the description. Never figured it was still in the box. It also had the warming tray. I wasn't really interested in the kettle, but this thing has hardly been used.

BBQ-whats the model number on that cast iron griddle?  Is there one posted on the box?

I will post some pics when I get home tonight of the grate and CI insert.  I also picked up the stainless steel wok from a hardware store (new in box).

Here are some pics. The CI grate does have a little surface rust, but it will be easy to clean-up and season. I bet this will make done killer sear marks this summer. I like this better than the current circular one that is sold.

CI insert in grate

Sides flip up as with regular grate

Round grate has some recessed bars that hold CI insert in place

1450 on bottom of box

Bonus accessory - SS wok

Handles and vents on side

I picked up the wok late last summer from a local hardware store. I talked them down a few bucks since the box had been opened and had some water damage.

Thanks for the pics Mike.  I'll be on the lookout for one of those at the local Ace or TV stores.  Im guessing the CI grate is probably from one of the Weber gassers.

I agree that the grate is the same one used on genesis grills of the same time. It is heavy duty and seems like good quality CI.

That is one thing I do when at any ace or local hardware shop is poke around their grill area - the wok was on the top shelf out of sight collecting dust. When one of the store employees came over, he acted like he wanted to get rid of it. I think the price tag was around $50. Offered him 30 and he took it.

THAT is awesome.  I want one!
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

Sorry for the necropost but does anyone know what the CI 1450 retail was?  I'm just curious if it's more or less than the current grate + sear plate in the gourmet system.
